KAPAWI ECOLOGICAL RESERVE

This reserve was founded in 1993 as a response to world-wide concern for preserving nature and, in Ecuador’s case, the Amazon rainforest.  At the same time, it provides economic support to the Achuar while their land and culture are being respected.  The reserve was built in one of the most remote areas of the jungle by native Achuar people who used their own notions of architecture (so no nails were used!).

Visitors can have a unique jungle experience while enjoying first class facilities and gourmet meals.  Jungle expeditions are led by native naturalist guides who will take them deep into the dense rainforest and show them secrets known only to them.
